Last weekend (or the weekend before?) I visited my friend Pete in York, which was good fun, although too brief.

My friend Dave Crawford used to live in York but now works for RM in Oxford. However, this weekend he did travel up to visit his family in York. It happened to be Kate's birthday on friday, so he travelled up to Newcastle to join in celebrations. It was great to catch up with him and talk about nerdy Linux stuff too.

Yesterday Kate, Dan and I went to my friend Ian's engagement party (well, really a post-wedding celebration thing). I haven't seen Ian properly in about 6 years so it was great to see him again. I also bumped into my friend Kayvan's sister, who I haven't spoken to in roughly 6 years either. Kayvan is also in Oxford by coincidence. A visit to Oxford is definitely on the cards next half term.

Today I drove my brother's stuff (well, half of it - my parents drove him and the other half) to his flat in Durham, a week in advance of the first term of his second year.

All in all, quite a lot of hellos and goodbyes recently!
