<h5>sound card not working</h5>

Well I've cheated here and stuck an SB Live! card in. Alsa now works (the dpkg advice on #debian/freenode was excellent), so hopefully I can watch to see if/when my primary chipset gets into sarge (or figure out how to add it myself).

The first thing I played? Depeche Mode's second singles collection (96-98), probably the best CD I've bought in the last 12 months.
