jmtd → log → geek → Academia and Tanenbaum
I am considering academia after I graduate (assuming I have good enough grades; its all up in the air). The three main areas of interest for me are
- Programming Languages
- Compilers
- Operating Systems
As a result, it was nice to see Andrew Tanenbaum commenting on the Tocqueville institute's activities, as he is author of some of the best books on the subject of operating systems, as well as having worked with languages and compilers prior to that.
