Hello, I (David Siegel) am one of the ISFDB regular editors. Let me give you few tips. I am sorry that you found the site hard to use. Magazien entries are actually a bit tricyer than book entries.

having verified that a magazien issue is not on file, click "New Magazine" from the main page or any page that has this link. Enter the title, which should, for a magazien, include the isse date (e.g. "Interzone Science Fiction and Fantasy, December 1995") The other fields are detailed in our help page, found at http://isfdb.org/wiki/index.php/Help:Screen:NewPub and linked from the top of the entry form.

You are correct that "add author" allows for multiple editors.

For magazines, Pub format is usually Digest, Pulp, Bedsheet, or Tabloid. For books it is usually hb, tp, or pb for hardback, trade paper, or MM paperback.

It is fine to make partial submission and return to them after a time. Note that new submisisons are not added to the database until a human moderator checks and approves them.

Magaziens do not ussually have ISBNs, the ISSN can be entered instead, with a prefix of "#ISSN".

The individual content items in an anthology have authors, the anthology as a whole has one or more editors.

A tag for each new publication is automatically generated -- only in unusual situations should a tag be manually entered.

I hope this is somewhat helpful for you.
